I was approached by Hackney Council to do the design for the rebrand of Hornchurch town centre. There had been a lot of qualitative and quantitive research that suggested that the majority of Hornchurch residents commuted outside of the town for work and that only an older minority used the town’s shops, restaurants and theatre. A campaign was devised to engender civic pride and to tempt people back to the centre. It involved community events, a retail loyalty scheme and festive celebrations and was publicised throughout the town. I created the identity and strapline and all of the brand assets.
